So, you’re planning a trip to Slovenia and choosing where to stay in Bovec?

Whether you’re just road-tripping through the Soča Valley or planning to base yourself in Bovec for a whole week, you’ll need a cozy place to chill after all those outdoor adventures.

The good news is that Bovec is quite a popular place to visit in Slovenia, so it has plenty of accommodation options for every type of traveler. From camping under the stars to swankier hotels, in this post, I’ll help you find a spot that feels just right.

A side note: Since we’re now usually traveling with a van, we go to campsites, but my husband and I have stayed in some other places in Bovec, too, over the years. Plus, I’ve done my homework (and then some) to give you a solid list of places I’d totally stay at if I wasn’t so hooked on hashtag vanlife. 🚌💨 Besides, I’m from Slovenia—so I kinda know what to look for when choosing a place I want to stay at.

Make sure to check out my blog post with all the fun things to do in Bovec, restaurant recommendations, and all the other info you need to plan your trip! But if you’re still on the fence about whether to include Bovec in your itinerary or not, this post might just help you decide!

CAMPING IN BOVEC: Sleeping Under a Zillion Stars 🌟

Camping is the way to go if you’re truly outdoorsy and travel with a campervan or caravan (ok, car camping with or without the tent counts too!)—plus, it’s budget-friendly AND always pet-friendly!

Here are my top picks:

CAMP LIZA

Rating: 8.7/10
📍 Location: Vodenca 4, Bovec

Camp Liza is a bit of a gem—nestled by the confluence of the Soča and Koritnica rivers, it’s perfect for kayakers and those who want to be close to water activities and hiking trails.

You can also opt for a cabin or glamping pod!

A campsite with a mountain in the background - camp Liza Bovec

PROS: Riverside location with direct access to water activities like kayaking, gorgeous natural surroundings (including those picture-worthy suspension bridges!), plenty of shade, and the best facilities. It also has a restaurant with a tiny store and a souvenir shop on-site.

CONS: It’s a 30-minute walk to the center of Bovec.

OPENING TIMES: Year-round
PRICE (low-high season, 2 people + campervan + tourist tax): 37-41€
DOG-FRIENDLY: Yes! 🐾 (3€/dog)

KAYAK CAMP TONI

Rating: 8.3/10
📍 Location: Vodenca 1, Bovec

Kayak Camp Toni is located right next to Camp Liza, so if one of them is full, you just need to walk a few meters to the reception of the other one and ask about free spots.

Camp Toni also features a few bungalows, so it’s a great budget-friendly option for those visiting Bovec by car.

Where to stay in Bovec - campsite Toni with a motorhome and tents in the distance, mountains behind.

PROS: Spacious and well-maintained, with clean facilities, a friendly vibe, and no extra fee for the pups, yay!

CONS: Just like Camp Liza, Camp Toni is slightly outside Bovec, so you’ll need to hop in the car or bike/walk to the town center.

OPENING TIMES: April 1st – Oct 31st
PRICE (low-high season, 2 people + campervan + tourist tax): 32-34€
DOG-FRIENDLY: Yep! 🐾

GOOD TO KNOW: Bovec gets insanely busy during July and August, so reservations are necessary during this time!

We once arrived in Bovec in mid-August, only to find every campsite full. We ended up at a camper stop next to the Kanin cable car in Bovec—and barely got a spot!

CAMP POLOVNIK

⭐ Rating: 8.5/10
📍 Location: Ledina 8, Bovec

If you want to be close to the action in Bovec, you’ll want to choose Camp Polovnik.

It’s a smaller campsite with basic facilities just a short walk from the town center, which means you can easily grab a bite or a beer after a day of adventure.

It also features a tiny souvenir shop inside the reception, and there’s a restaurant next to it.

Two dogs resting on the ground near camping chairs in a campsite with tents and parked cars in the background.

PROS: Convenient location close to Bovec town center, lots of shadows, easy access to restaurants and shops, and it’s the most affordable option.

CONS: There are two downsides—the proximity to the main road means you might have to deal with some traffic noise, especially during peak season. And, you have to pay extra for a hot shower—0.50€ for 4 minutes. It’s not much, but I found it a hassle to be searching for 50c coins all the time.

OPENING TIMES: April 1st – Oct 15th
PRICE (low-high season, 2 people + campervan + tourist tax): 27-32€
DOG-FRIENDLY: Yes! 🐾 (1€/dog)

GLAMPING IN BOVEC: Camping, but Make It Swanky ✨

Glamping is like camping but with a bit more comfort and glamour—perfect if you want to enjoy the outdoors without sacrificing your comforts. Here are some glamping spots in Bovec I like:

GLAMPING GOZDNA JASA

Rating: 9.4/10
📍 Location: Podklopca 3, Bovec

Tucked away in a meadow surrounded by woods, Glamping Gozdna Jasa offers a lovely glamping experience.

You’ll stay in charming tents with a wooden terrace and gorgeous mountain views (or opt for a lovely room if the tent isn’t for you). The bathrooms are shared, there’s a terrace with a hot tub, and breakfast is included in the price!

It’s peaceful, it’s cozy, and it’s something I would absolutely choose for a relaxing getaway.

A serene glamping site with several canvas tents set in a lush green meadow, surrounded by tall mountains and trees. Bright yellow wildflowers are in the foreground, with the sun casting golden light over the scene through a partly cloudy sky.

PROS: Secluded and surrounded by nature, it’s a perfect escape from the crowds. Ideal for nature lovers who want a bit of comfort without too much luxury.

CONS: It might feel too isolated if you prefer being closer to town or need more amenities. Since it’s located 5 km from the Bovec town center, you’ll need a bike or car to explore the area.

OPENING TIMES: May 1st – Sep 30th
PRICE (tent, low-high season): 105 – 130€
DOG-FRIENDLY: Unfortunately not 🙁

BASE CAMP GLAMPING RESORT BOVEC

Rating: 8.1/10
📍 Location: Dvor 43d, Bovec

For a bit of rustic charm, Glamping Resort Bovec is your go-to.

It’s a boutique camp with tents and glamping houses. Think cozy wooden huts with kitchen amenities and comfy beds. There’s an adrenaline park next door, and they can organize different activities for you.

PROS: It’s close to Bovec center! The tiny terrace in front of the cabins is perfect for sipping wine in the evening—it’s like having your own tiny house with direct access to the outdoors. There’s even floor heating to keep you warm during the shoulder season!

CONS: If you’re after the ultimate luxury glamping experience, this might not be it.

OPENING TIMES: April 26th – Oct 15th
PRICE: 90-110€ (the cabin is for 2 people)
DOG-FRIENDLY: Yes! 🐾 (3€/dog)

HOSTELS IN BOVEC: Budget-Friendly and Social 🥳

Hostels are a great option if you’re traveling on a budget or just want to meet fellow adventurers. Bovec doesn’t have many hostels, so make sure to reserve well in advance if you’re visiting Bovec during the busy season.

HOSTEL SOČA ROCKS

Rating: 8.7/10
📍 Location: Mala vas 120, Bovec

Hostel Soča Rocks is the place to be if you’re looking for a fun, social atmosphere.

This hostel is located right in the center of Bovec, making it super convenient for exploring the town. There’s a fully equipped shared common kitchen and lounge area.

A modern hostel building with wooden accents - hostel Soča Rocks in Bovec. The hostel is situated in a picturesque setting, surrounded by green mountains under a partly cloudy sky. The outdoor patio has umbrellas and tables for guests.

PROS: Super central location, on-site bar with a terrace, a garden with cozy hammocks, plus a 10% discount for all adrenaline activities organized by the hostel. All in all, a pretty great deal!

CONS: You know, that one thing all hostels have in common—if you’re looking for a quiet, restful night, this might not be the best fit. Shared facilities might also be a dealbreaker for some.

PRICE: 21-23€ for dormitories, 45-55€ for a double room (with shared bathroom)
DOG-FRIENDLY: Nope.

THIRSTY RIVER HOSTEL

Rating: 8.4/10
📍 Location: Trg golobarskih žrtev 46, Bovec

The Thirsty River Hostel is a small, inexpensive, and well-maintained hostel right in the center of Bovec.

What might come as a surprise—a pleasant one to at least some, I imagine—is that you’ll be staying on top of a bar, as Thirsty River is a microbrewery 🙂

Rooms are bright colorful, and there’s a common kitchen and lounge area.

A bright and cozy common area with a navy blue couch adorned with colorful cushions, positioned next to a white coffee table. The room features a wooden dining table with chairs, colorful floral curtains, and large windows allowing natural light to flood the space. It's interior of Thirsty River hostel in Bovec, Slovenia.

PROS: I guess having a brewery right downstairs is quite an added bonus 😉 Fresh beer after a day of activities!

CONS: The hostel is small, so it can get booked out quickly. And while the brewery downstairs might be a unique bonus for some, light sleepers might not appreciate the chitchat under their window.

PRICE: Shared dorm from 23€, private room from 42€
DOG-FRIENDLY: Unfortunately not.

APARTMENTS IN BOVEC: Your Home Away From Home 🏡

If you’re like me and sometimes need a break from the campgrounds, renting an apartment in Bovec is a fantastic option. You get the comforts of home with the freedom to come and go as you please.

Here are my top choices:

APARTMENT PRI ZAJCU

Rating: 9.6/10
📍 Location: Mala vas 44, Bovec

Apartment Pri Zajcu is a charming little spot located just outside the center of Bovec, offering a cozy, retro vibe.

It’s in a quiet neighborhood, so this family-run apartment is perfect for those who want a peaceful retreat while still being close to all the outdoor activities Bovec has to offer.

The apartment itself is clean, cozy, and fully equipped with lots of amenities, and even has a lovely vine-covered outdoor area where you can enjoy your morning coffee.

Apartment "Pri Zajcu" in Bovec, Slovenia - A small kitchen with a light wooden dining table and chairs, featuring a retro-style turquoise refrigerator and matching coffee machine. The kitchen has gray cabinets, open shelving, and a stainless steel range hood.

PROS: Quiet location, but still within walking distance of Bovec center. Friendly hosts make you feel right at home, and it’s perfect for longer stays if you want more than just a place to sleep.

CONS: It’s a three-bedroom apartment, so it’s perhaps not the most sensible option if you’re traveling solo or with your partner.

PRICE: From 130€ per night
DOG-FRIENDLY: Yes! 🐾

APARTMENTS NAC BOVEC

Rating: 8.9/10
📍 Location: Kot 98, Bovec

If you’re after a bright, modern, comfortable space with an almost upscale vibe, I think Apartments Nac in Bovec is a fantastic choice!

Located just a short walk from the town center, this stylish apartment comes with a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious living area, and a garden.

It’s ideal for couples or small families looking for a peaceful stay with modern conveniences, yet close enough to everything Bovec has to offer.

PROS: Just minutes from the town center, with modern amenities, an affordable price, and mountain views.

CONS: The WiFi or cell service can be on the slower side sometimes.

PRICE: One-bedroom apartment from 70€, duplex (for up to 4 people) from 110€, two-bedroom apartment (for up to 6 people) from 130€
DOG-FRIENDLY: Yep! 🐾

APARTMENTS PRTON BOVEC

Rating: 9.2/10
📍 Location: Mala vas 83, Bovec

These studio Apartments Prton Bovec are also centrally located, fully equipped with modern amenities, and come with a gorgeous outdoor sitting area.

This place is ideal for couples who particularly love quiet and scenic settings while not being far from the center.

Apartments Prton Bovec, Slovenia - A bright, minimalist apartment kitchen with beige cabinetry, a long countertop, and wooden flooring. A small dining table with black chairs sits between two windows, with a wall-mounted TV above. A cozy brown sofa is positioned near the entrance.

PROS: Many guests emphasized that the apartment is dog-friendly, so if you’re like me, that’s essential information when deciding where to stay!

CONS: The house is next to the road, so if you’re a light sleeper or traveling with kids, this might be something to keep in mind.

PRICE: From 95€
DOG-FRIENDLY: Yes! 🐾

HOTELS IN BOVEC: For When You Want to Treat Yo’self 🛏️

As I mentioned in my post about things to do in Bovec, this destination is primarily focused on outdoor travel, but if you’re dreaming of crisp white sheets and a fluffy pillow after a day of adventures, you’ll be able to find something for yourself.

Here are my top hotel picks:

HOTEL SOČA

Rating: 9/10
📍 Location: Ledina 2, Bovec

I’ll start with the most dreamy one! Hotel Soča is one of the newer hotels in Bovec, and it’s all about modern comfort.

The rooms are sleek and stylish, and the views of the mountains from the balcony are stunning. Plus, they have a pool—perfect for a post-hike dip!

Hotel Soča in Bovec - A modern hotel with a sleek design, featuring an outdoor pool surrounded by lounge chairs and white umbrellas. The pool area is illuminated in the early evening, with a scenic backdrop of towering mountains and lush green trees. Photo is for a post Where to stay in Bovec, Slovenia

PROS: Modern and stylish with all the amenities you could ask for, including an outdoor pool, spa and wellness center, wine bar, and on-site restaurant. The breakfast is exceptional, and the location is central, making it easy to explore Bovec. Plus, they have a sustainability certificate.

CONS: I’ll just state the obvious—it’s on the pricier side, so it might not be the best option for budget travelers. Also, I know it’s a minor detail, but the sleek vibe might not appeal to those looking for a more rustic or traditional feel.

PRICE: From 200€/night for a double room
DOG-FRIENDLY: Yes 🐾 (but it’s 20€/dog)

BOUTIQUE HOTEL DOBRA VILA

Rating: 9.3/10
📍 Location: Mala vas 112, Bovec

For something truly special, Boutique Hotel Dobra Vila is a beautiful boutique hotel set in a historic building.

The rooms are elegant, guests especially love the food and first-class service, and the atmosphere is just so… romantic. If you’re looking for a couples’ getaway in Bovec, I’d recommend this one.

A beautiful boutique hotel Dobra Vila in Bovec, Slovenia with a classic design, featuring ivy-covered walls and surrounded by lush greenery and white flower gardens. The multi-story building has large windows with decorative wrought-iron accents, set against a backdrop of towering mountains.

PROS: Unique and charming, with a rich history and beautifully decorated rooms. The setting of the on-site restaurant is just beyond lovely (think charming rustic winter garden), and they offer gourmet meals made with local ingredients. The wine cellar is superb as well, and there’s an outdoor sauna in the garden!

CONS: As a boutique hotel, it has limited rooms, so it books up quickly. It’s also on the more expensive side, which might not be ideal for longer stays. The historic building might not have the modern conveniences some travelers expect.

PRICE (low-high season): 170-240€ / night
DOG-FRIENDLY: No, that’s one downside of this otherwise so, so charming hotel.

HOTEL BOKA

Rating: 8.5/10
📍 Location: Žaga 156a, Srpenica

If you want to be close to the Soča River and the famous Boka Waterfall, Hotel Boka is your spot. It’s a bit out of town, which means it’s quieter, and you’ll be enjoying mountain views. The rooms are comfortable and cozy, and guests are loving the breakfast and wine selection in the hotel’s wine bar. The staff is known for being warm and welcoming.

Hotel Boka, Bovec - photo shows a stylish hotel restaurant interior featuring earthy green walls, wooden furniture, and unique tree branch-inspired ceiling decor. The dining area is furnished with round wooden tables and comfortable, modern chairs.

PROS: The quiet location is away from the hustle and bustle of Bovec and is near hiking trails and natural attractions. You’ll be able to relax in the sauna after an active day or stargaze from the roof terrace!

CONS: The hotel is a bit farther from the town center, so you’ll need to drive or cycle to get to restaurants and shops. While the location is peaceful, it might feel a bit too remote for those who want to be in the center of things.

PRICE (low-high season): 150-240€ / night
DOG-FRIENDLY: Yes, and they get their own welcome basket! 🐾

No matter where you choose to stay in Bovec, you’ll be perfectly placed to explore everything this gorgeous area has to offer.

And if you need ideas on what to do, check out my guide to all the things to do in Bovec guide or plan an epic road trip with my Soča Valley road trip itinerary.
