WHO ARE WE?
We are Sandra and Bojan, the masterminds behind this travel & adventure blog that was born in late 2017.
The idea to create a travel blog started forming in Sandra’s mind a few years prior, but she somehow never found “the right time” to realize it.
Even though this blog is “her baby”, it wouldn’t exist without a lot of Bojan’s help, especially when it comes to technical stuff and website maintenance.
WHAT IS OUR MISSION?
Our sole mission is to inspire you to open that squeaky fence door of your garden and peek around the corner.
No, seriously, GO.
The world is big and round and even if you wander far, you’ll eventually come all the way back. 😉
Our motto is that life is too short to take it too seriously and not have fun, wherever you are.
You’ll find all kinds of super cool and witty things on this blog (a pro-level of self-praise huh), but to give you an idea, this is what you can expect to find around here:
WHERE DID THE NAME BLUEMARBLE VAGABONDS COME FROM?
We have been trying to come up with a name that would describe us well and indicate the style of the blog: witty, playful and – duh – travel related.
VAGABONDS: Well, that one is obvious… (Yikes, not so original. We didn’t think that one through.😁)
But since a vagabond is by definition “a person, usually without a permanent home, who wanders from place to place; nomad”, and this is basically the exact description of Sandra’s gypsy soul, this fits right in.
THE BLUE MARBLE: Please, tell us, that you’ve all heard of the famous “Blue Marble Image”. If not, Google it now. Right now. See it? Ok.
Besides Blue Marble being our home planet, marble is also a toy (we don’t know about you, but we played with them a lot in the ’90s🤭). And with a little imagination, a green-blue one looks just like Earth. Well, we suppose that’s where the idea about The Blue Marble Image came from in the first place.
The bottom line about our name? Stay young (at heart, we don’t possess a magic wand as far as we know) and wander around. 😉
