ABOUT BLUEMARBLE VAGABONDS

BlueMarble Vagabonds is a witty adventure travel blog that (mainly) focuses on destinations and experiences beyond the beaten path.

It was born in late 2017 after I (Sandra) finally decided it was time to realize my long-life dream of writing about my travels and helping aspiring adventurers to embrace that itchy travel bug.

I’m the leading content creator, but lots of credit goes to my husband Bojan, too – as it’s difficult to find a person less tech-savvy than I am, and he has way more talent for video editing than I will ever have.

But enough about us – you aren’t here for that, right! (Are you?)

Our mission

BlueMarble Vagabonds’ mission is to inspire you to open the squeaky gates of your garden (okay, the apartment door will do as well) and peek around the corner.

No, seriously, GO.

The world is big and round, and even if you wander far, you’ll eventually come all the way back. #sorrybutearthisnotflat

Yes, I want to help you plan your adventures, of course – and if I can manage to make you snort-laugh along the way, well, that’s just an added bonus.

You’ll find all kinds of super cool things on this blog, but to give you an idea, this is what you can expect to find around here (clikc on each of them to learn more):

Why BlueMarble Vagabonds?

All those years ago, we were trying to come up with a name that would describe us and the style of the blog: witty, playful and – duh – travel related

And this is what we ended up with (actually, it sounds pretty cool in our native language!)

VAGABONDS: Well, that one is obvious… (Yikes, not so original. We didn’t think that one through.)

But since a vagabond is by definition “a person, usually without a permanent home, who wanders from place to place; nomad”, and this is basically the exact description of not only my gypsy soul but our usual situation (the only house we own is this cool one on wheels!) this fits right in.

THE BLUE MARBLE: Please, tell me you’ve all heard of the famous “Blue Marble Image”. If not, Google it now. Right now. See it? Ok.

Besides Blue Marble being our home, marble is also a toy (we don’t know about you, but we played with them a lot when we were kids). And with a little imagination, a green-blue one looks just like Earth. Well, I guess that’s where the idea about The Blue Marble Image came from in the first place.

Bottom line? Life’s too short to stay in one place AND to take it too seriously – so go out, explore, and have fun wherever you are.

So what now...?

Want to get to know us better?

Hop to the Meet Vagabonds and read more stuff about us – like my favorite countries, what Nano is most irritated by (it’s not his lil’ sis Nui, although she makes quite an effort) or where Bojan spends most of his time when he isn’t traveling.

or...

You can low-key stalk us on Instagram and Facebook, subscribe to our YouTube channel, or follow us on Pinterest(No pressure of course, but I’ll be forever grateful if you do, alghoritms are bit*h nowadays)

See you around & happy vagabonding!
